I get the feeling that your cold demeanor is going to cause trouble. Still, it's not easy when Luna has caused so much destruction.

To defend Celestia and her actions, I've been meaning to defend her on this; As a Princess/Older sibling, tough decisions have to be made "yes" Tia should show a little more compassion but matters forced her curtness and it WAS called for.

no, you're forgetting that Luna is an extremely powerful alicorn that once almost conquered equestria. Luna can't be contained against her will, she's simply too powerful for that.
If Celestia pushes Luna too far then she might rebel and that could spell doom for equestria. She needs to find some sort of solution and quickly. Maybe try to invite ponies to come to the castle and get Luna to not feel so alone.
Luna is different because Celestia can't control her. She can control every pony in equestria except Luna. Celestia needs to realize that Luna is her sister, not her subject. She is her equal and it's only because she wants to that she is listening to her.

I see your point...BUT still...her hoof was needed....Luna is out of touch slightly...she has SOME knowledge...but not FULL knowledge...Celestia just wants Luna to be in an environment SHE can see so she can step in if things go awry....for if she cannot step in....disaster will be the end result....I like the idea of inviting others...but after this incident they are LESS then "negotiable" at this current time...she is NOT trying to control Luna...but Luna's surroundings and handling around others...UNTIL she is able to be reintroduced. The lack in judgement in NOTHING to jump on...this is a matter of thinking under duress...let us see how YOU would do under the weight of CELESTIA'S burdens.....and think the way you think this should be handled...

You say she doesn't want to control Luna but she does. She wants her to be where she can SEE her, where she can intervene, where she can stop her. She does want to control her.
Maybe also the mane six or something could socialize her. Because like this it will only go from bad to worse. If this goes on like this it will never improve and this can't go on like this.

It's clear that Luna can't be 'reintroduced' like that. It has to happen gradually but she doesn't seem to see just how dangerous the situation is.

I do not want to make this a heated argument...so I am breaking off here with this: I am disappointed you think Celestia wants control over her sister....I do NOT see that; Celestia DID look like she was going to adjust her approach anyways.....so to say she would continue her train of thought and plan of action regarding Luna, would be unfair to Celestia to assume. PLUS since it dead ends here...we do not have ANYTHING to say what will happen next...the cliffhanger offers nothing but...a cliffhanger...only the author can tell you what could continue from where this story ended.

the fact that she chooses all those plans and everything means that she does want to control her.

but the fact that she makes all the decisions is the thing. She didn't even ask what Luna thought about it.

the only wrong was that when she said "that was a wonderful breakfast wasn't it sister"  That she kinda expected Luna to be fine. She is only looking at things from her own royal duty, not from her heart and love for her sister. This will only break Luna more but she never looked into the fact that it was Luna who was upset not her subjects. So your right that being an older sister means you have to make tough decisions but she should of hear both sides of the story more clearly before making her own choice.

I agree, it was VERY wrong for THAT remark, and ALSO she should have heard BOTH side to the tale before speaking her mind, did not think it would have been a while since I made that comment someone would reply to it, BUT I am VERY glad I found another COOL head on the issue/subject of Celestia and her moments of decision making; one who thinks out THOROUGHLY why Celestia does something or makes a decision on something, THEN makes their argument on the validity and competence behind, said decision(s).England emoteSo in short, even though Celestia & her world is not real, I thank you for understanding my argument in defense of Her Majesty's honor.

Sees her sister is totally heartbroken and sad, and in fact crying. Leaves curtly, and doesn't even offer a hug or words of encouragement to her own sister.

Instead leaves her alone when she claims she can't stand it anymore.

And she says Luna has social issues...

A dire want to no longer have to do anything with magic effects? Drawing too long makes your eyes glaze over and you stop noticing all the little details? Skyrim calling you makes you rush and miss a few rather unimportant details that most people wouldn't notice? It does have a very sensual call.

Hardly matters as it's no longer a problem. And you are very welcome. :D

I the only one who likes this portrayal of Celestia? I think that's how she would be, she's a millenia old ruler of an entire country, who is tasked for moving the giant-ass sun and moon daily. I think she would be this cold, even towards her sister if it was in the interest of her people.

Thank you! :D She is so freaking old and people don't think about it that way. Consider how hard she works, along wiht a few other "special" things that have happened to her recently and now she has to take this shit coming from Luna? But still she's just not very good at speaking to her about stuff like this... thus the OC-dripping, melodrama emerging from this chapter.. ^^;

Which I hate.. thank God it's almost over :XD:

Here's one more thing, all Luna did with all her chances according to your comic was screw up worse than the last time.
I don't think half the people in these comments section have any idea what tough love means.

It would be an interesting portrayal, but totally against the canon. Celestia is not only shown as wise and caring, she's even a prankster, and one of a big caliber.

Of course your image would be possible in an alternate universe, but not as a permanent state, but as a point on a slippery slope, a moment in time of Celestia's downfall.

One moment sir.
Luna (According to the story of this comic) sets gardens ablaze, combusts all the pies of an entire building, terrorizes the locals from Canterlot, destroys libraries, destroys scrolls that are pretty much irreplaceable and yet, despite all that, Celestia is a big caliber prankster?
well shit. I wonder what show you watched to say that Celestia being a big caliber prankster is canon..

Canon of Celestia as prankster: the whole "Best Night Ever" episode, and the whole "Bird in the hoof" episode.
Canon of Luna as prankster: one scene from Luna Eclipsed.

Quite unlike how this episode depicts them.

I don't think she planned for the mane 6 to destroy the Gala. More so, I believe those were words of forgiveness rather than what she intended them to do from the start.
From Bird in the hoof, I assume you mean the whole Philomena incident. That is all up for interpretation.

Think about Super speedy cider squeezy 6000. In that episode, the cider could have been alcoholic, but at the same time, it could have been non-alcoholic. That's what the writers intended with that idea as they did with the Trollestia suggestions, to not answer them and instead leave them up to the interpretation of the viewer.

Let me quote:

TS: I just hope Princess Celestia is not upset with us for ruining the Gala
PC: That was the Best Grand Galloping Gala Ever!
All: Princess Celestia!!
TS: Pardon me, Princess, but tonight was just awful!
PC: Oh, Twilight! The Grand Galloping Gala is always awful!
TS: It is?
PC: That is why I was thrilled that you're all attending. I was hoping you would liven up things a bit.

Also:

You don't seem to understand the logic behind these characteristics, which are set up specifically to be "up to interpretation". They're neither true nor false, they're just used to form opinions on the viewer for interpreting how the character is acting, that's why they're never explained or looked into.

An example is Pinkie Pie's character, where she is either a genius, stupid or absolutely bat shit insane. None of these 3 are canon with the show, because none of them have been explained or shown to be the dominant charactersitic between the three.
The episode Feeling Pinkie Keen makes an attempt at understanding how Pinkie Pie works, only to show us that the whole premise is something that the writers will not tell us. Sure, the premise focuses on just 1 addition to her character, but that exploration of understanding ONE THING about Pinkie Pie is a good epilogue to how not being able to understand Pinkie Pie is a running gag and part of her appeal.

The only time she's ever been shown actually pranking knowingly was in Bird in the Hoof and the best she did there was faking drinking from a tea cup.
Fucking badass...
The rest, AGAIN, falls all under interpretation. Nothing is ever presented, shown or questioned, simply because Celestia is never asked why she brought Philomena with her, so nothing is Canon regarding why she brought Philomena.
She may have done it to prank Fluttershy, but the show never tells us that, simply because it would be mean spirited if it did, which is the opposite of what the show is supposed to be, but the writers decided Not to drop the possibility of her having done all of it on purpose, which is why that kind of scene falls under INTERPRETATION...

Did I explain the difference well enough yet?

:iconsharpfang:
Sharpfang Featured By Owner Feb 15, 2013
For you, it's "open for interpretation", for me it's "slipping things under the radar for the adult audience", an extra layer of depth.

Besides, there are many writers of the show and they all have their own headcanons which make the canon internally conflicted - see Spike episodes...

I really wanna see Luna break and fly into a fit of bland rage that would rival Nightmare Moon...hate if you want but i love comics and stories where Luna and Celestia end up fighting due to one or the other having a mental break or something similar that would make them extremely violent
